For a city that never sleeps, obviously there needs to be a multitude of dining options. New York City, due to being one of the largest melting pots of the world, has an eclectic and unlimited selection of food for the foodie to choose from. With thousands of restaurants located across the island of Manhattan and throughout the other boroughs, this website will help you to select in choosing some of the best from the best. See below for a few standouts in New York eateries:

Times Square
In a city that is home to some of the best restaurants in the world, it is difficult to be the very best, but Le Bernardin achieves this with class and elegance only witnessed at the finest French restaurants. Acclaimed four-star chef, Eric Ripert, is the mastermind of the kitchen at this three Michelin starred restaurant. At Le Bernardin, it is said that no dish on the menu is anything short of excellent but standout favorites are the uni seviche, barely cooked salmon with black truffles, and Mr. Ripert’s shrimp ravioli in truffle sauce.

Meatpacking District
When you step into Pastis, you will feel like you have gone back in time to the 1930’s in Paris. Pastis is ranked as the #4 restaurant in New York by Urbanspoon.com, and with one bite of the Eggs Benedict you will understand why. The décor is impeccable as is the food. The cuisine is described as French comfort food and definitely will leave the diner pleasantly satisfied. Famed for its seared tuna nicoise and moules frites au Pernod, you must have a dinner reservation to enjoy this Meatpacking District French restaurant.

West Village
The West Village gastro-pub, Spotted Pig, serves simple, straightforward food to high acclaim, which includes one Michelin star. Continuously rated in the top restaurants in New York City, the Spotted Pig’s most acclaimed dish is the gnudi. During the cold, blustery, New York winters, the smoked haddock chowder will warm you from the inside out. In addition to their amazing cuisine, the Spotted Pig houses a 100+ wine bottle selection and its own proprietary cask-drawn ale.

Union Square
The impressive menu that is presented to you when you enter Gramercy Tavern will amaze even the most seasoned foodie. This critics’ pick by NY Magazine, run by standout chef, Michael Anthony, is home to what has been referred to as the ideal meal in Manhattan. This includes smoked trout, braised pork belly and warm chocolate bread pudding. Additional standouts include roasted sweetbreads with bacon and braised lamb shoulder minestrone soup. All of these will sear into your memory as some of the best foods you have ever tasted.

Theatre District
The New York City legacy, Carmine’s, is located in the Theatre District. Home to a bustling crowd, the family style of Carmine’s may seem intimidating to some but after your first bite, you will understand Carmine’s charm. With décor that reminds the diner of the 1920s, Carmine’s feels that it has been opening much longer than its twenty years. Large portions of incredible Italian food and a fairly loud atmosphere, this is a wonderful restaurant to take the family or a group. Plan to enjoy a lengthy dinner talking and enjoying the amazing food that is created at Carmine’s.
